Cast on 50 stitches in white, these are made sideways!!
R1 rib stitch of k2, p2, across row
R2, p2tog, YO, k2, across row, end with k2, p2 (these are holes for the laces)
R3-6, back to rib stitch
Change to another color as red, black or blue, etc.
R7, knit all rows in this main color for five inches, end so that with white-begin with right side facing you.
R1 - knit this row
R2-4 - begin rib (match pattern on other side, making sure that begin with knit or purl as on other side)
R5 - check where the four stitches that are for the bottom of the slipper are located so that the lace holes are placed the same as the first side.
P2, k2, (YO, p2 tog, k2) repeat across row or k2tog, YO, p2, across row end with p2, k2
R6- rib stitch
R7-bind off on 10½ inch needles.
Laces; make 2- chain for 60 inches.
